Eating, drinking and flirting your way through Paris is a dream, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t any downsides. You could accidentally get caught up in a love triangle, become the target of your boss’s ire or accidentally sleep with your bestie’s 17-year-old brother. All of this could happen theoretically... or, if you’re the heroine of Emily in Paris, it literally does. The American marketer’s expat life is full of culture clashes, work drama and romantic dalliances (as one should expect in the City of Love).
All that friction didn’t wrap at the end of Season 1, so Emily (Lily Collins) has plenty more to figure out when the comedy returns on December 22. With that in mind, we’ve compiled a list of the biggest burning questions we hope this season answers.
1. Will Emily actually learn French?
While she didn’t know a single word when she first arrived in Paris, the next few episodes saw Emily pick up a few phrases — but pronounce them in ways that caused us all to cringe. Will her pronunciation improve the longer she’s abroad?
2. What will happen between Antoine (William Abadie) and Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu)?
Antoine, Savoir’s biggest client, and Sylvie, Emily’s boss, are more than longtime work collaborators. They’re also longtime lovers whose relationship hit a few snags when Antoine hit on Emily, and Antoine’s wife accidentally (or purposely?) sabotaged her husband’s getaway with Sylvie. Can their relationship ever recover?

3. What will happen to Gabriel’s (Lucas Bravo) Normandy restaurant?
Emily’s favorite hot chef/downstairs neighbor/flirt buddy/occasional hookup had planned to leave Paris to open a restaurant in his hometown of Normandy, but then Antoine decided to invest in a Paris restaurant instead. Since Gabriel is not leaving town, what will become of his Normandy eaterie?
4. What's up with Mindy’s (Ashley Park) visa status? Is she in danger of being deported?
Mindy moved into Emily’s attic apartment after being fired from her nanny job. Since the Chinese expat has overstayed her French visa and will have trouble finding other employment, how will she be able to stay in the country? And will she enlist her obscenely rich father’s help to make it work?
5. Let’s just come out and say it: Will Camille (Camille Razat), Gabriel and Emily act on their collective sexual chemistry?
We know Gabriel and his now-ex-girlfriend Camille enjoyed a healthy romantic life when they were together, and we know that Emily and Gabriel acted on their sizzling chemistry in the season finale. But Emily and Camille had instant chemistry too — they immediately became besties after meeting on the street. So will we see the trio engage in a ménage à trois?
6. How will Camille react when she finds out about Gabriel and Emily?
Sure, Emily and Gabriel clicked long before she even knew Camille existed. But once Emily became friends with the Champagne heiress — like, actual, honest-to-god, vacation at the family home friends — Gabriel should’ve been off limits. That’s just girl code. Camille didn’t even get mad when Emily accidentally banged her teenage younger brother — but there’s no way she can forgive Gabriel and Emily betraying her trust.

7. Will everyone make their reservation at Le Grand Véfour on November 8?
Emily managed to snag a difficult-to-get reservation at a popular fancy restaurant... on November 8 instead of August 11 ( in Europe, the month and day are inverted, so 8/11 is November 8, not August 11). Will the business associates all reconvene for the reservation in a few months? Or will the booking go to waste?
8. Is Mindy going to pursue her singing career again?
After a traumatic experience on a Chinese reality competition, aspiring singer Mindy put her dreams behind her. But they were reignited on a night out in Paris with her childhood best friends when she successfully performed Sia’s “Chandelier” in public. She’s thinking about heading back to the world of entertainment, but does she have the guts this time?
9. Will Emily return to Chicago after the year’s up?
Emily has made lots of friends in Paris, considering she’s only been there a few months and she doesn’t speak the language at all. She was originally scheduled to return home after a year, but if she succeeds at her job, will the company keep her in the city longer?
