Surviving a school year at Las Encinas is a feat, a badge of honor, even, considering that making it to graduation is never a guarantee on Elite. Since the start of the series, each season has hinged on unraveling a mystery, whether it be a disappearance or worse yet, murder. 

But it wouldn’t be Las Encinas if, in between amateur detective work and cover-ups, the students at this elite institution didn’t relieve their presión by throwing lascivious parties in between locker room hookups.

As we’re nearing Season 5, though, it’s hard not to notice that the number of original cast members (or, shall we say, murder suspects) on Elite has dwindled down to two after graduating or leaving due to more, ahem, violent means: Omar Shanaa (Omar Ayuso) and Samuel “Samu” García (Itzan Escamilla). So, this left us wondering: Dónde están los otros Elite OGs ahora? And where did their characters go off to in the first place? We’ve got your status update below.

Marina Nunier (María Pedraza)

When did they leave? Season 1 Qué pasó? Marina was murdered by Polo. It was the original mystery of the series. Dónde está ahora? María Pedraza didn’t stray too far from the Netflix family, as she graduated from a teen dancer on Elite to a pro bono lawyer taking on a case to free a dancer from prison time on Toy Boy. Post-Elite, Pedraza also provided the voice of Katie Mitchell in Spain’s dubbing of The Mitchells vs. the Machines and starred in Who Would You Take to a Deserted Island? opposite Money Heist and Elite co-star Jaime Lorente. She has also appeared in El verano que vivimos with Cable Girls alum Blanca Suárez, Polyamory for Dummies and Ego. A ballet dancer in real life, Pedraza performed in the short film, Run, and is set to feature in Dancing on Glass (Las niñas de cristal) in 2022. Pedraza has collaborated on a number of campaigns for Cacharel Parfums, Bulgari, Adolfo Dominguez Perfumes, Estee Lauder, Coolway, Dolce & Gabbana, L'Oréal and Mini cars.  The socials: Follow Pedraza on Instagram.

Christian Varela (Miguel Herrán)

When did they leave? Season 2 Qué pasó? After getting hit by a car while riding his motorcycle, Carla’s dad paid to have him sent to Switzerland for medical treatment in exchange for keeping silent about Marina’s murder. Dónde está ahora? Miguel Herrán just finished up his run starring as lovestruck computer hacker, Río, on the hit Money Heist series, which he filmed alongside Elite alums Jaime Lorente (for all six seasons of the show) and María Pedraza (for Season 1). He also starred in Hasta el cielo after Elite and can soon be seen in Canallas. Herrán is an ambassador for Pull & Bear, Moncler, Fendi, Holzkern and Mundimoto. Nano García (Jaime Lorente)

When did they leave? Season 3 Qué pasó? After being framed for Marina’s murder and getting out of jail, Nano is living as a man on the run in Morocco with his mom, leaving his brother Samu holding down the fort alone in Madrid. Dónde está ahora? Like Miguel Herrán, Jaime Lorente was pretty much desaparecido after Season 2 (save for a phone call in Season 3) to film juggernaut show Money Heist, as he played Denver for the duration of the show. After Elite, Lorente starred as Ruy in the period drama series, El Cid. He’s set to appear in 42 Segundos, Tin & Tina and Cristo & Rey. But if you missed Nano rapping at his own house parties to impress Marina, give a listen to Lorente’s original music, like “Corazón,” “Mirando Al Sol,” “Saturday,” “Sra Smit” and “Guapo y Loco.” Since Elite, Lorente has also been featured in campaigns for Bulgari, Maserati, G’Vine Gin and Armani Beauty. Polo Benavent (Álvaro Rico)

When did they leave? Season 3 Qué pasó? Lu killed him at the Las Encinas teens’ fave club (but, shh, don’t tell la policía!). Dónde está ahora? Since Season 1, Polo was always a controversial character on Elite, but that didn’t mean his death wasn’t a shock to the system in Season 3. Since departing the show, Rico has appeared in a number of TV series, including Tales of the Lockdown, La caza. Monteperdido, Alba, Madres. Amor y vida and Hasta el cielo. He also had an Elite reunion with Jaime Lorente in the period drama El Cid. On stage, Rico was in the touring production of Dribbling. Next up, Rico is set to feature in Sagrada Familia, alongside Money Heist alum Alba Flores. The socials: Follow Rico on Instagram.

Carla Rosón (Ester Expósito)

When did they leave? Season 3 Qué pasó? Carla heads off to study abroad in London but not before leaving the management of her family’s wineries in the hands of Valerio (Jorge López) and sharing some macaroni for old times’ sake with Samu. Dónde está ahora? Since leaving the world of Elite, the Spanish model and actress has been featured in campaigns for Dolce & Gabbana and Bulgari. On the film side, Ester Expósito appeared in Mamá o papá and just wrapped shooting Venus in November 2021. She is also set to feature in the film Rainbow in 2022. Lucrecia "Lu" Montesinos (Danna Paola)

When did they leave? Season 3 Qué pasó? Lu and Nadia said adios to Madrid and flew off to New York City together, splitting a scholarship to their dream university. Dónde está ahora? Mexican performer Danna Paola is a pop superstar and released her latest album, K.O., in 2021. She provided the voice of Raya in Disney’s Raya and the Last Dragon in the Spanish language dubbing for Latin America. She also sang “Hasta vencer” for the film’s soundtrack. Nadia Shanaa (Mina El Hammani)

When did they leave? Season 4 Qué pasó? Nadia and Guzmán sadly broke up (so we no longer saw any more of their long-distance video calls), but we can safely assume she’s off living it up in NYC with Lu. Dónde está ahora? After trading the halls of Las Encinas in España for a scholarship to a university in New York on Elite, Mina El Hammani wasn’t ready to leave her school days behind her. Postgraduation, she’s been starring as Elvira in The Boarding School: Las Cumbres and lent her voice to Audible’s The Sandman: Second Act. She also played Queen Jocasta in a theatrical production of Oedipus Through the Flames (Edipo a través de las llamas) at the Teatro Español, and she directed and executive produced 30 Seconds. Currently, she is filming Mañana es hoy. El Hammani is also an ambassador for Guerlain, Fendi, Revlon, Adidas and Maje Paris. The socials: Follow El Hammani on Instagram.

Ander Muñoz (Arón Piper)

When did they leave? Season 4  Qué pasó? After beating his cancer diagnosis, Ander is ready to travel the world with his best friend, Guzmán.  Dónde está ahora? Arón Piper has been busy swapping Ander’s penchant for tennis with his own penchant for music. Piper released songs like “Me Reces” and “Ojalá” and went on tours in Mexico and Spain. He’s also been featured in campaigns and ads for Loewe perfumes, Versace Jeans Couture, GCSD and Diesel. Post-Elite, Piper appeared in Once Upon a Time in Euskadi with Cable Girls’ Yon González. Next, he can be seen in the thriller Código Emperador with his Elite co-star Georgina Amorós (who plays Cayetana in the teen drama). The socials: Follow Piper on Instagram.

Guzmán Nunier (Miguel Bernardeau)

When did they leave? Season 4 Qué pasó? Guzmán left Madrid with Ander to find greener pastures... away from his exes (and murder victims). Dónde está ahora? While Guzmán may be off backpacking, Miguel Bernardeau isn’t leaving your screens anytime soon. He’s starred in the film Josefina and the TV series Everything Else (Todo lo otro) for HBO España, and he’s incorporating his passions for surfing and the ocean in Playa Negra. He’s set to lead the Disney+ series La Última and will feature in the upcoming European Netflix series 1899 from Dark creators Baran bo Odar and Jantje Friese.
