It’s almost time to say goodbye to Grace and Frankie. The show’s final 12 episodes hit Netflix on April 29, and mark the end of seven seasons of love, laughter and family drama. Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda star in the Emmy-winning series, which dropped the first half of its seventh season last August as an unexpected treat for fans.
The arrival of the second half of Season 7 will officially make Grace and Frankie Netflix’s longest-running original series, with 94 episodes in total, spanning seven fruitful years. Since 2015, fans have come to know and love Fonda’s Grace and Tomlin’s Frankie, as well as their ragtag crew of family members, friends and love interests. The series’ final episodes aim to bring Grace and Frankie’s stories to a beautiful and satisfying conclusion, paying tribute to not just the show’s long run but also the lives well-lived by the show’s titular gals.
But what will happen in these final 12 episodes, and what surprises can fans expect as we approach the big finale? Here’s everything to know about the end of Grace and Frankie...

Who stars in Grace and Frankie?
Fonda and Tomlin are, of course, back for the final season. They’ll be joined by Sam Waterston and Martin Sheen as ex-husbands Sol and Robert, respectively, as well as their four kids, played by June Diane Raphael, Brooklyn Decker, Baron Vaughn and Ethan Embry. Peter Gallagher, Lindsey Kraft, Peter Cambor, Christine Woods and Millicent Martin are back as well, and there are a few special guests for the final run, including Dolly Parton — but more on that later.
Where did the first part of Season 7 leave off?
When last we saw gal pals Grace and Frankie, they were still trying to land the capital to make their Rise Up toilet a reality. They’d struck out with both Mark Cuban and Grace’s white-collar criminal husband, Nick, who — surprise! — is now out on house arrest and living the third-wheel life in the ladies’ beach house.
Meanwhile, after a brief and tumultuous stay with their exes, Sol and Robert are back at their old house. Unfortunately, it’s recently been robbed — something Sol blames Robert for, since he was the one who took too many sleeping pills and didn’t notice the burglars. Will they ever feel safe in their home again? And will Robert win the lead in the new local production of Guys and Dolls?
Speaking of houses: Coyote and Jessica are living in a new one, and might just be on the precipice of taking the next step in their relationship. Bud is newly circumcised and easing into a bit of a midlife crisis, unsure that divorce law is what he wants to do forever. Brianna has handed over the reins of Say Grace to Mallory, though it’s unclear whether she ever really let go. And what’s going to happen with Brianna and Barry, who’s possibly too sweet for his own good? All we can really say is you’ll have to watch the rest of Season 7 to find out.
What’s going to happen in Season 7, Part 2?
The final episodes of Grace and Frankie promise to be a sweet and satisfying farewell to the beloved series. Fonda and Tomlin’s characters will no doubt get into sisterly tiffs and harebrained schemes, all while dealing with the realities of living as senior citizens in America. There’s also a big cameo this season, as Fonda and Tomlin’s friend and 9 to 5 co-star Dolly Parton is set to appear in some form. There’s little information out there as to what or who she’ll be playing, but knowing Parton, her character will no doubt be charismatic, charming and adorable.
