Florence, Italy, is full of art, romance, and delicious food, and this series gives us all three. Amy (Zoe Saldaña) comes to the city to pursue her passion for art. Fate leads her to a run-in with Lino (Eugenio Mastrandrea), a chef who befriends Amy and invites her to his restaurant. This movie is based on the true story of Joe Scaravella (Vince Vaughn) and his Staten Island restaurant, Enoteca Maria. When his mother passes away, Joe finds comfort in making the dishes she and his grandmother loved most. With the life insurance he receives, he decides the best way to honor her would be to start a restaurant featuring the dishes of different nonnas. He assembles a group of women who each have their own family recipes, which leads to some clashes of opinion, but ultimately they put together a menu and get the restaurant ready to open. Watching the ladies cook their favorite meals, putting decades of love into them, somehow makes them even more mouthwatering.

The scope and scale of things that can be done with chocolate and sugar will blow your mind in this reality competition series. Amaury Guichon, famed pastry chef and chocolatier whose massively creative confections you may have seen on social media, hosts and mentors eight contestants. He assigns them different challenges, such as creating chocolate illusions, photorealistic chocolate objects, a chocolate sculpture that hangs from the ceiling, and chocolate flower petals. Given the challenge level, you may not be able to replicate these at home, but they’ll certainly have you considering fun ways to present your holiday treats.

Despite their many differences of opinion, they work together to start a new restaurant. You’ll fall in love with the beautiful scenes of them choosing precise ingredients, cooking delectable creations, and plating the food with a gorgeous flair. And watching Beom-woo and Yeon-joo fall in love along the way is just as satisfying.

Sofia, despite her jaded mentality, can’t help but be drawn in by Matias’s love for food and encouraging demeanor. Together, they may both have a chance to reinvent themselves.

Danish chef Theo (Anders Matthesen) has won awards and gained fame for his talents, but he has grown hotheaded and jaded in the process. As they share their different cooking styles, they form a bond that just might be love.
