Ink is about to hit the printing press.

The new film from Academy Award-winning director Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire, Steve Jobs) will be coming to select theaters on Dec. 11 before hitting Netflix in the US and Latin America on Jan. 8, 2027. Based on James Graham’s Tony-winning play of the same name, and starring Jack O’Connell, Guy Pearce, and Claire Foy, Boyle’s new film tears open the world of tabloid journalism in electrifying fashion. What is Ink about?

The film is based on the Tony-winning play by multi-Olivier Award–winning playwright and screenwriter James Graham. The film is an explosive cinematic rollercoaster about a group of visionaries and misfits who had an idea for a new kind of news — one that would give the people what they want and would change the face of the world we live in today.

When will Ink be on Netflix? 

Ink lands in select theaters on Dec. 11, 2026, and Netflix on Jan. 8, 2027 in the United States and Latin America. It will have its world premiere as the opening film in the 83rd Venice International Film Festival
