While nothing feels better than canceling plans — here’s one event you’re definitely going to want to put in your calendar: the premiere of John Mulaney: Baby J.
John Mulaney’s third Netflix comedy special will officially enter the world on April 25. The special follows its siblings The Comeback Kid (2015) and Kid Gorgeous (2018), the latter of which earned Mulaney an Emmy for outstanding writing for a variety special.
The comedian also released the children’s musical comedy special John Mulaney & the Sack Lunch Bunch on Netflix in 2019.

A lot has changed in Mulaney’s life since we last saw him. It’s been a roller-coaster couple of years — he welcomed a son with actor Olivia Munn, got sober after a rehab stint and joined the five-timers club with his most recent hosting gig on Saturday Night Live.
Over the past year, the comedian has also been performing across the US, Europe and Australia as part of his From Scratch tour.
Presumably, nothing will be off the table during Mulaney’s set, which was filmed at Boston’s Symphony Hall in February 2023 and was directed by Alex Timbers, who also directed and executive produced Kid Gorgeous.
While Mr. Music is seemingly taking the night off, legendary singer and songwriter David Byrne, who previously appeared in The Sack Lunch Bunch, will be once again lending his musical talents to the special. Much like a horse loose in a hospital, you’ve never seen anything like Baby J — so tune in this April, and check out the teaser above.
