Trust no one and suspect everyone: It’s time for a new season of Million Dollar Secret, hosted by actor and comedian Peter Serafinowicz (The School for Good and Evil). The competition series, in which players must hunt down and eliminate a mystery millionaire among their ranks, is back for Season 2 with an even twistier game of cat and mouse. And this time around, the contestants aren’t just facing more complicated challenges — they’re also battling an extremely savvy group of players now that everyone has studied up on Season 1 winner Cara’s strategies. Keep reading to find out more about Season 2 and meet the new cast.
When is the Million Dollar Secret Season 2 release date?
The first three episodes of Season 2 will be released on April 15, with new episodes dropping on Wednesdays.
What are the rules of Million Dollar Secret Season 2?
Just like in Season 1, a group of competitors travels to a lakeside estate in British Columbia known as The Stag for the chance to win $1 million, which is anonymously awarded to one player at the start of the game. But the new funds come with major complications, as the money’s got a big target attached.
In each episode there are two challenges. First, the unknown millionaire must complete a classified mission without anyone else noticing. If they succeed, they’ll earn an advantage to help protect their identity. The second challenge is a team-based competition, where the winners gain access to the Trophy Room, in which they find clues about the secret millionaire they’re trying to expose. After each set of challenges, the contestants vote out the player they think is hoarding the cash.
But as fans of Season 1 already know, alliances form and fracture as the money changes hands — and paranoia will come for even the most logical and level-headed players. Who will end up keeping the life-changing prize for themselves?
Who is competing in Million Dollar Secret Season 2?
- Altie Holcomb, 54 years old, deputy chief of staff to the mayor of Riverside, California: A former US Marine with more than 20 years of military experience, Altie loves spending time with his family, riding his motorcycle, and staying plugged into the latest gossip — a key skill in this game of deception.
- Daisy Skarning, 50 years old, stay-at-home mom: Daisy wants you to know that she’ll stir the pot just for fun. The unapologetic mom of two teen boys is super competitive and knows that her uncontested position as the town gossip means her social game here will be unmatched.
- Hunter Call, 24 years old, student: While Hunter looks exactly like every other surfer dude from the West Coast, behind that laid-back exterior is a poker player with sharp instincts and a need to prove everybody wrong. He claims to be a terrible liar, but his ability to bluff might just come in handy.
- Kaleb Moon, 44 years old, cattle farmer: The high school athlete turned rancher can admit there’s still one thing in this world that stumps him: how to navigate life with a teenage daughter. Winning $1 million couldn’t possibly be tougher than that.
- Kasey Coffey, 33 years old, freelance art director: Between creating dynamic campaigns for beauty brands, Kasey loves learning new languages, cooking with her husband, and walking Butter, her Bernese mountain dog who’s a local celebrity. If she wins, she hopes to open a Thai snack bar.
- Kat Ellis, 26 years old, beverage cart attendant: Don’t let Kat’s bubbly exterior fool you — underneath it is a tough Boston native who isn’t afraid to let everyone know what she’s thinking. If Kat emerges victorious, she wants to help her father retire and open an animal shelter.
- Kevin Moranz, 26 years old, supercross racer: Kevin’s childhood love of dirt bikes turned into a full-blown, self-funded career on the racecourse. The pro athlete from a blue-collar family in Kansas — who’s often mistaken for Tom Cruise when he wears aviators — is confident that the determination he pours into racing will get him far in Season 2.
- Lauren Gierth, 43 years old, sales operations manager: Born and raised in Louisiana, Lauren considers herself smart, practical, and tough. A lover of historical fiction and quality time with her two kids, she finds the spice in life wherever she goes, including reality TV.
- Lauren Tennery, 25 years old, yoga instructor: A self-proclaimed free spirit, Lauren spends her time traveling the world. After modeling in Sydney, bartending in Los Angeles, and traversing Asia as a yogi, she’s confident that her globe-trotting adventures will give her an edge in the competition.
- Melissa Austin-Weeks, 61 years old, retired nurse: Melissa’s a woman of many talents: She can take your blood pressure, soothe your worries with the charm of a Southern mama bear, and host a mean cocktail party all at the same time. But will those dimples be enough to fool the other contestants?
- Natalie Noisom, 29 years old, marketing manager: Even though she’s fluent in Portuguese and English, Natalie’s most important skill is staying quiet and listening when it matters most. The bird mom considers herself a duck — calm on the outside but working like crazy underneath — and plans to acquire a military macaw as a bestie for her parrot if she wins $1 million.
- Nick Pellecchia, 27 years old, finance account manager: Miami frat boy Nick might seem like he’s always on his way to the gym, but there’s more to him than meets the eye. An avid reader and proud mama’s boy, Nick plans to use other people’s assumptions about him against them.
- Tarek Ahmed, 24 years old, daycare worker: After spending his childhood bounding between the US and Egypt, Tarek now works at his family’s daycare business in California. A natural-born nurturer who’s used to chaos, Tarek plans on slipping past everyone’s drama and straight to the cash prize.
- Umeko Peterson, 27 years old, student: A former intelligence analyst in the US Navy, Umeko is back in school and starting a new chapter in life. Will her ability to handle pressure and her innate talent at gathering and interpreting information put her a cut above the other contestants?
