Connor from Love on the Spectrum boogied to Beyoncé on the dance floor. Love Is Blind veterans Lauren and Cameron linked up with newlyweds Amy and Johnny, as Selling Sunset’s Amanza arrived fashionably late in an eye-popping bodysuit, descending a staircase overlooking an infinity pool. Just a few feet away, Netflix newbie Ryan Serhant mingled with fellow real estate powerhouse Kayla Cardona of Selling the OC, while the Gganbu Gang from Squid Game: The Challenge reunited over cocktails.
No matter where you looked at the Netflix Summer Break event on Thursday evening, reality stars collided. To celebrate the upcoming launch of Perfect Match Season 2 and a jam-packed slate of new and returning unscripted series, the Netflix Reality Universe assembled in full force like never before. “It’s a Netflix family thing,” Mal from The Ultimatum: Queer Love Season 1 told Tudum about the bash held at a Bel-Air mansion with sweeping views of Los Angeles. “I’m so excited to see everybody I know, and the people I’ve only seen on my TV screen.”
Once the the party kicked off (and the Love is Wine started flowing), the first order of business was to crown the winners of the NRU superlatives. After hundreds of thousands of fans voted for their favorite reality stars in a handful of categories, ranging from Cutest Couple to Most Meme-Worthy Expressions, the freshly anointed NRU royalty accepted their trophies from We Have the Receipts host Chris Burns. Before long, the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders came charging in, and the crowd quickly parted to make space for high kicks and jump splits. The performance got guests buzzing about the new docu-series America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. “I wish I could dance like them,” said Alara from Perfect Match asher co-star Micah joked, “They were so hot. I’m wondering who is single.”
The rest of the night was a “choose your own adventure” of sorts. In one room, attendees made their own avatar with an AI character creator before trying their hand at a variety of new Netflix mobile games based on shows like Too Hot to Handle. In another area, they checked out the rarest of rare collectibles, including a jersey worn by the late Kobe Bryant, among a selection curated by Ken Goldin from King of Collectibles: The Goldin Touch. Outside, it was all about Perfect Match, with a spicy dice game to play and photo-booth experience that put anyone who posed right into the Mexican villa.
But of course, the major action was reserved for the dance floor. The party came to a close with one last dance to “Lil Boo Thang” by singer Paul Russell, who was in attendance alongside his sister, Caress from The Circle Season 6. The siblings and the rest of the party danced the night away, as a giant replica of Lana from Too Hot to Handle lit up the sky with its dazzling light display.
