The Old Guard is immortal, so of course it’s no surprise that they’re already back together and filming a sequel. But before The Old Guard 2 reaches screens, the cast will have to survive their deadliest challenge yet — the sweltering heat of an Italian summer. You can see how they fare in a new dispatch from the set of the upcoming movie, courtesy of Netflix’s annual Tudum fan event.
As Chiwetel Ejiofor himself notes in the clip, the entire cast of the first Old Guard is back (minus Harry Melling's Merrick, who never had a chance of surviving that fall). In other words, the cast includes:[deep breath] Charlize Theron, KiKi Layne, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Marwan Kenzari, Luca Marinelli, Matthias Schoenaerts and Veronica Ngô. Also joining the crew for the sequel are Henry Golding and Uma Thurman. Based on the graphic novel series created by Greg Rucka and Leandro Fernández, the sequel is directed by Victoria Mahoney with a screenplay by Rucka, who also serves as executive producer.

In the greeting, Layne promises twists and surprises galore for the sequel. One of those surprises? Marinelli’s pronunciation of Tudum. “Did you say Tulum? Pretty sure you said Tulum,” Kenzari joshes his on-screen lover. Tulum dot com sounds good to us, Luca.
The Old Guard 2 is currently in production.
