The following interviews were recorded during production.

Nearly 30 years after Benicio Del Toro played Alicia Silverstone’s kidnapper in 1997’s Excess Baggage, the pair reunites as a married couple in Reptile, a twisty thriller directed by Grant Singer. But they’re not the only draw: Justin Timberlake also joins the cast as the head of his family’s real estate firm whose girlfriend, a young real estate agent herself, is brutally murdered at one of her listings. The police investigation leads Del Toro’s Detective Tom Nichols to an unpredictable web of corruption that begins to unravel his personal life in this chilling small-town murder mystery where nothing is what it seems.

The film made its debut at the Toronto International Film Festival and will open in select theaters on Sept. 22 before streaming on Netflix on Sept. 29. You may have to wait until then to find out who the killer is, but you can meet the cast of characters below.

About the Character

Tom Nichols is a small-town police detective thrown into a murder investigation, who slowly realizes things aren’t quite as they seem. Nichols is a loyal detective and husband to Judy — there’s only one thing he loves almost as much as he loves her, and that’s being a cop. “He’s a man of destiny,” Del Toro told Netflix. “He’s a man who gets a second chance, but then something happens and a reckoning occurs. Through everything, he remains true to himself.” Speaking of his wife, played by Alicia Silverstone, Del Toro adds, “She’s like a partner. She knows how to hold a gun. She knows about cases. She’s kind of like Nichols’ home coach. And Alicia brought everything we wanted for the character and more.”

About the Character

The former Clueless star takes on the role of Tom’s wife, Judy Nichols. But she’s more than just a spouse — Judy enjoys talking about crimes with her husband and helps him with the investigation. “I love that she’s kind of feisty, and he really respects her like a partner — in life, but also in his professional life because he relies on her insights to help uncover the mystery,” Silverstone said. “He trusts her, and in this story there are a lot of people he’s not sure he can trust.”
