‘Space Force’ Season 2 Blasts Off with New Trailer

    Prepare for takeoff Feb. 18.

Can’t get enough of chaotic space missions since Don’t Look Up? Good news: The Space Force Season 2 trailer is here to remind you just how bad these trips can go.

After the frenzied events of Season 1, the branch’s “very existence is in question,” according to the logline, as a new administration takes over the force. Steve Carell is reprising his role as General Naird, who is called “unstable, incompetent, fragile, eccentric, indecisive and potentially treasonous” in the first 10 seconds of the trailer as he faces questioning. With only five months to prove himself as a leader, Naird is once again combining forces with Dr. Adrian Mallory (John Malkovich), F. Tony Scarapiducci (Ben Schwartz), Dr. Chan Kaifang (Jimmy O. Yang), Captain Angela Ali (Tawny Newsome) and daughter Erin (Diana Silvers) to save his command. Lisa Kudrow will also reprise her role as Naird’s wife.

It seems like a lot of things are changing for the force: The trailer also teases a Chan-Angela relationship (ship name: Changela?), F. Tony possibly taking a leadership role and a couple of very intoxicated commanders. It features the crew telling an astronaut (Patton Oswalt) that the New York Jets are in last place, which — haven’t we Jets fans suffered enough here on Earth?

If you’re ready to take off with the rest of the crew, Space Force Season 2 premieres Feb. 18.
