Get ready to spend a little “you time” with the cast of Me Time. The Kevin Hart–Mark Wahlberg comedy drops on Aug. 26.
In the movie, Hart plays Sonny, a type A super dad who’s persuaded to take a little personal time in order to hang out with his hard-partying childhood best friend, Huck (Wahlberg). Huck is about to paint the town red for one of his annual birthday blowouts, and Sonny — and about 100 other people Sonny doesn’t know — are invited.
As you might expect, things go wildly awry from there. And while we can’t give too much away, let’s just say there are tortoises, mountain lions, huge effigies of Mark Wahlberg and even a spectacular car crash. It’s raucous, offbeat and even a little dirty, so maybe drop the kids off at Grandma’s before you take a little “me time” to watch this one.
While Hart and Wahlberg anchor the film, Me Time has a robust ensemble of side players. Here’s a look at the cast of Me Time.

Sonny prides himself on being a conscientious stay-at-home dad, making his kids goji berry smoothies in the morning and even throwing together PTA breakfasts every Friday. He’s lost a bit of his old self, though — or maybe he’s just abandoned it in favor of banged-up minivans and Bridgerton binges. Though he initially dodges calls from old buddy Huck, ultimately Sonny decides his pal’s b-day fiesta could be just what he needs. Hart is both the star and a producer of Me Time. He also starred in The Man from Toronto, released on Netflix earlier this summer.

A lifelong daredevil who lives to entertain, Huck is an ad man who just loves to meet good people and hang out. Every year for his birthday, he throws a big bash because, well, just because. This year, he’s turning 44, and while some might argue that’s not a milestone birthday, he’s committed to celebrating, no matter what. Oh, and he’s also maybe in a little bit of trouble with a sadistic loan shark. Wahlberg has been working in the entertainment business since 1990, starring in movies like Ted, Boogie Nights and Uncharted.

Sonny’s wife, Maya, is a successful architect who maybe doesn’t get to spend as much time at home as she’d like. She decides to take the pair’s two kids to her parents’ house for spring break to give Sonny a chance to be alone. Can she really clock out of her job, though?
Fans may recognize Hall from movies like Girls Trip and the Scary Movie franchise, as well as from TV series like Black Monday and Ally McBeal.

Maya and Sonny’s two precocious and hilarious kids, Ava and Dash, love their dad’s smoothies and hate driving around in the family’s old busted-up minivan. Dash has been spending all his free time watching Eddie Murphy stand-up specials, and it’s clearly something he’s passionate about, though his dad is more convinced that practicing his keyboard skills for 20 minutes a day is a better use of his time. Also, Sonny and Dash are building a gigantic LEGO Death Star, and it is very cool. Me Time is Sledge’s first big Hollywood movie role, though Tafari has previously appeared in shows like Rel and The Good Place.
Sledge isn’t on social media — yet — but you can follow Tafari on Instagram.

Maya’s biggest client, Armando, is a philanthropist who somehow works in the dental space and also, strangely enough, happens to be a big lover of tortoises. Sonny is worried that Armando is interested in more than Maya’s work, though Maya assures him that’s not the case.
Méndez previously played lead roles in shows like Narcos: Mexico as well as Club de Cuervos. He’s also currently starring in The Resort.

A sketchy loan shark whose threats are backed by an Israeli henchwoman, Stan Berman means business. When he realizes Huck’s skipped town without paying him the money he’s owed, he tracks him down and vows to inflict physical harm unless things are made right. He doesn’t believe anyone’s excuses, but as long as his clients’ debts are paid, there are no hard feelings. A veteran of TV shows like Silicon Valley and Space Force, Jimmy O. Yang also played Bernard Tai in Crazy Rich Asians (not to mention Love Hard’s overlooked Josh Lin.)

Sonny might think Alan is his best dad friend from school, but he still has him saved in his phone as “Dash’s dad.” Alan might seem traditional, but he’s a bit of a freak on the inside. He encourages Sonny to spend his “me time” pursuing… let’s just say “racier” pursuits than he generally does. He’s quick with a cutting barb aimed at Sonny’s lack of a life, though life inside his own house doesn’t seem all that rosy… or all that wild.
