It was another green light for Squid Game Season 2 — the smash-hit Korean drama series maintained its position at the top of the Netflix Top 10 non-English TV list, with 58.2 million views for the week, again reaching the Top 10 in 93 countries and ranking No. 1 in 91 countries. Creator/director Hwang Dong-hyuk’s series also leaped from No. 7 to No. 2 on the list of Most Popular non-English language TV programs. In only 11 days, Season 2 of the global phenomenon has amassed 126.2 million views — a Netflix TV record. Audiences also continued to catch up with Squid Game Season 1, with 13.6 million views and a No. 2 placement on this week’s non-English TV charts.

Audiences have outdone the TSA on “additional screenings” and helped make Carry-On a runaway hit. Jaume Collet-Serra’s thriller Carry-On reached new heights, flying onto the Most Popular English films list at No. 5, with 149.4 million views, less than four weeks after it was released. It also stayed at No. 1 for its fourth consecutive week on the English-language film list, with 17.4 million views.

And even after her showstopping performance on NFL Christmas Gameday, fans continued to tune in for Beyoncé — between the live show and the standalone special, the Beyoncé Bowl has now been watched by nearly 50 million people worldwide.

On the English TV list, it was a Happy Harlan Coben New Year for Missing You, which made its debut at No. 1 with 21.7 million views, and charting on the Top 10 in 89 countries. The adaptation of the bestselling-author’s novel is his latest thriller to hit Netflix, with more on the way. Also on the list were Season 6 of Virgin River (No. 2, 5.2 million views) and Season 1 of Black Doves (No. 3, 5 million views).

Meanwhile, hot on Squid Game’s heels on the non-English TV list was La Palma (No. 3, 8.3 million views). The disaster series also cracked the Most Popular non-English TV list, landing at No. 9. And a new international edition of Love is Blind, Love Is Blind: Germanyentered the pods at No. 9, with 1.3 million views.

Tyler Perry’s The Six Triple Eight spent another week at No. 2, with 10.8 million views, and the animated comedy That Christmas closed out the festive season at No. 8, with 3.8 million views. Two more 2024 film releases also arrived on this week’s list — Kevin Costner’s Horizon: An American Saga - Chapter 1 (No. 7, 4 million views) and Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (No. 9, 3.8 million views).

In the world of non-English-language films, Norway’s Number 24 made a splash in its debut week, landing at No. 1 with 8.8 million views. Following behind were India’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 (No. 2, 4.2 million views) and Italy’s The Love Scam (No. 3, 4.2 million views).

Audiences also spent the last week of the holidays catching up with old friends — non-English TV shows like Season 1 of Alice in Borderland (No. 10, 1.2 million views) and non-English films like Under Paris (No. 8, 1 million views) cropped back up on the charts. And on the English TV list, audiences got ready for The Night Agent Season 2 by rewatching Season 1 (No. 9, 1.6 million views).
