Did you miss Virgin River’s favorite couple? Mr. and Mrs. Sheridan look to be going strong in the first look photo, above, from Season 7, which is streaming on Netflix as of March 12.

The new episodes pick up after restaurateur Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson) and nurse practitioner Melinda Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge) finally tie the knot in the Season 6 finale. The wedding was a long time coming, since the couple have been engaged since Season 4. “There’s so many feelings about Mel and Jack finally getting married, I don’t even know where to start!” Breckenridge previously told Tudum.

Viewers actually got two weddings for the price of one episode: the duo privately commit to each other in an intimate spot by the river, and later say “I do” in front of all their nearest and dearest. Bask in the joy of their ceremony below.

Let’s Unveil the Making of a Virgin River Wedding

But there may be more magic in store for the couple than mere wedded bliss. Season 6 ends with one of Mel’s pregnant patients hoping to place her baby with Mel and Jack after her initial adoptive couple pulls out. The opportunity is a real beacon of possibility for the couple, in light of their fertility journey.

“We obviously saw the tragedy with the miscarriage in Season 5, and Mel ultimately deciding that with all the past trauma that she’s experienced around not being able to conceive or losing babies, she’s done,” Henderson previously told Tudum. “It hurts her too much. I think it was really interesting to see the couple have to go through something so dark together and then find a way through that actually made them closer and stronger. Out of that is born this idea that they can still have their dream, [but] it just might look a little different.”

Showrunner Patrick Sean Smith previously told Tudum that married life will certainly not be boring for the couple — it’s Mel and Jack, after all. “I think we’ve only just begun to see Mel and Jack function as a married couple, which is exciting,” says Smith. Season 7 will “explore the honeymoon phase for them as they’re building their lives on the farm, which can come with its own obstacles. Mel came to Virgin River expecting the cabin to be farmhouse chic, and now she’s living in a farmhouse. What does that mean for her character? She continues to be a fish out of water and [is] constantly taking herself out of her comfort zone.” Not to mention, he adds, “taking Mel and Jack’s parenthood journey to the next level of exploring adoption.”

All we can say is, cheers to the happy couple! Catch up on Seasons 1–6 of Virgin River before Season 7 premieres on March 12, only on Netflix.
