Calling all passengers: You can board the final 10 episodes of Manifest on Friday, June 2 and watch the trailer now.

As all Manifesters know, that date has significance in the show’s lore, as June 2, 2024 is the predicted Death Date for the 828ers. Initially, they thought the date only applied to the 191 passengers on the flight, and they’d all live or die together, but the group — led by sister and brother Michaela (Melissa Roxburgh) and Ben Stone (Josh Dallas) — has since learned that if they can’t successfully outmaneuver their predestined doom, the same fate will befall all humanity.

Announcing the show’s return date on April 7 also carries meaning in the world of Manifest. In the drama’s very first episode, Montego Air Flight 828 left Jamaica on April 7, 2013. The plane and its passengers disappeared for five and a half years. Since their return, the passengers who didn’t age a day while missing have experienced supernatural “callings,” which vaguely direct them toward certain situations and outcomes.

“I love it,” Manifest creator Jeff Rake previously told Tudum of the show’s last launch date. “Netflix has been geeking out on Manifest mythology since the moment they took over the show. It warms my heart.” 

When the first half of Season 4 concluded, things were grim for the good guys: Zeke (Matt Long) sacrificed himself to save Cal (Ty Doran); Angelina (Holly Taylor) was on the loose, with a piece of a powerful sapphire embedded in her hand, leaving a trail of physical destruction in her wake; plus, Saanvi (Parveen Kaur) and Vance’s (Daryl Edwards) research was shut down.

“It’s even worse than you [know], but I’m not going to give away how or why,” Rake teased back in April. “Let me just say the dire straits our passengers find themselves in forces the entire group to work together like never before. That collective action will make all the difference.”

As the series’ endgame plays out, viewers will be thrown a curveball immediately. “The first calling in the final batch changes everything,” said Rake.

An unexpected person may also be a key to their salvation. Rake singles out Eagan (Ali Lopez-Sohaili) as the character who fans will be the most surprised by in the final 10 episodes. Notably, Eagan took Vance’s son hostage and has been a wild card (albeit one with photographic memory) for much of his run on the show. “The guy has layers after all,” Rake joked. 

The creator also previously teased that the first half of the season had delivered a sizable hint about the show’s overarching mystery. “I don’t know that I’d say that [the mythology is] all laid out, but I think that this block of episodes — and stumbling upon this theory of divine consciousness — is probably the biggest card turn yet,” he told Tudum back in November.

The drama has had an eventful life off-screen, running for three seasons on NBC before its cancellation. It was saved by Netflix in 2021 for a final supersized season, which allowed the creative team to wrap up the long-planned journey.

The reprieve also allowed its stars to stretch their wings creatively. Roxburgh makes her directorial debut with Episode 18. Dallas also stepped behind the camera for the first time in the initial batch of Season 4 episodes.

With the end around the corner, Rake is feeling reflective. “[I’m] so grateful, so nostalgic, so sad,” he said. “It’s been a joyous, deeply moving journey. I’ll miss everyone and every moment.”
