Victoria: Keep kicking with those legs, they are not done kicking. I know my performance tank is not empty, I still have so much to give.
[rock music playing]
[CLIP] Victoria: Making the team was absolutely the best moment of my life.
[CLIP] Interviewer: It must be hard to have this thing that's your dream be this--
[CLIP] Victoria: The thing that hurts me. If it's my time to go, I want y'all to tell me.
Victoria: I am currently hanging up my pom-poms, and my boots, and my uniform, and going right into the lifestyle of New York City.
[intriguing music playing]
Victoria: I love the hustle and bustle of it. I love the energy. I love how driven people are when they're there. That is where dreams are made of, literally. Doing Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders right out of high school has definitely introduced me to pursuing professional dance as a career, and I'm hoping going to New York will open so many more doors. There are so many opportunities up there, whether it's Radio City Rockettes, which I would absolutely love to keep kicking with those legs, they are not done kicking… I know there's Broadway up there, theater. Whatever aspect it is, I know my performance tank is not empty. I still have so much to give.
[soft music playing]
Victoria: My mom is my biggest supporter ever. She was a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader. That's why I wanted to be one. I didn't want to retire and hang up my boots after this past year, but it just kind of all happened, so we definitely had to make some sudden life decisions together. But she's super supportive of me and she is so excited about this new move to New York. She's gonna be visiting like every three weeks, and I know she's gonna be there, and I know she'll be my cheerleader, even though I won't be cheerleading.
Reece: My mission as a dancer is to use my gift and my talent to bring glory to my Creator.
[CLIP] Woman: Reece, are you ready?
Reece: I'm super excited to try out again. I've had such an incredible year. This year's been so surreal, to say the least. So as a vet coming into it, you are not promised anything. And so last year when I witnessed three vet cuts, that just shows me that I have to work extremely hard. I do know that nothing is promised. I still have to earn my boots back. Now, since I've experienced a whole year, I know what I could lose. I'm excited and hopeful that if I just keep my head down and keep working hard, I can stay on the team.
[laughs]
Reece: My prayer was, "Lord, if I meet someone, I pray that that is my husband." And here we are. [laughs] Newlywed life is great. I've only been married for roughly a month and a half, so… [laughs] I feel like we've gotten on a fast train and it has not slowed down at all. Knowing Will for four years now, we've had good days, we've had bad days, we've experienced a lot together. We've built so much. I get to go home now to my best friend for forever. The lifestyle I live is extremely busy, and so when I get those days off, and I get the opportunities to just have a day fully devoted with Will, I just want to be intentional in that time. I found out quickly that I cannot do long-distance. When I made the team and Will wasn't out there, it was really hard. I think the heart does grow fonder, but it also makes my heart, like, really eager for him to be there with me. And you just want your best friend with you all the time. [laughs]
Kelcey: I think it feels like it's time for me to retire, but I'm gonna miss it a lot.
[CLIP] Kelcey: [crying] Out of all five years, like, this team has been so incredible.
[soft music playing]
Kelcey: I am retired, almost. My contract technically goes for a couple more weeks, but I'm retired, and I actually am gonna come back as an All Star next year, which is you keep your uniform and do performance here and there, but I'm excited for that. I would love to get into coaching, or a little bit more performance in the dance world, but I'm just gonna see where God takes me and what God brings to me. Now that I have a bit more time on my hands, I'm excited to travel, and see the world, and get married is exciting, yeah. Planning a wedding is no joke. It is no joke. It's a lot of details and planning, but we've got quite a bit of time. It's gonna be pretty big, because my family alone is, like, 150, and his is, like, 80, so it's gonna be big. But it'll be a party. We're doing New Year's Eve, so… Dance has kind of taken over my life since I was three years old. It's tough. You gotta have great time management. Sleep when you can. My nights off are sleeping and just relaxing. Because you gotta take your mind off of the crazy every once in a while. If you're doing what you love, you're going to enjoy it, no matter how much time you're giving to it, so… If you pick a career that you're absolutely crazy over, the time won't really matter.
[CLIP] All: [chanting] One, two three, DCC! Whoo!
