Yasmin Finney: Hello, everyone. We’re the ‘Heartstopper’ cast. And today we’ll be doing the apron interview. 

Tobie Donovan: So basically, today, these guys are gonna be decorating some cakes based on different ‘Heartstopper’ characters, and I’m gonna judge and choose which one is the best.

[whimsical music playing] 

Tobie Donovan: OK, everyone. You’ve got 10 minutes. Your time starts … now! 

Kizzy Edgell: I’m excited. Going straight for this. 

Rhea Norwood: There’s two types of artists. One to contemplate …

Kizzy Edgell: Yeah.

Yasmin Finney: And one to just do it.

Rhea Norwood: And one to go straight in. 

Tobie Donovan: We’ve got loads of sweets from lots of different countries around the world that these guys are gonna be putting on their cakes. 

Kizzy Edgell: We’ve got French sweets, which I’m excited to try. 

Will Gao: I’m going for the one from the Netherlands.

Rhea Norwood: Oh yeah, they’re good, those.

Will Gao: Are these good? He breaketh the bread. 

Tobie Donovan: I’m gonna be asking you some questions, by the way, while you do this. 

Rhea Norwood: What was your favorite Season 3 scene to film?

Kizzy Edgell: Feeding giraffes.

Kit Connor: Actually, you know what was really fun? The New Year’s party scene, and we were all … Uh, it was us, and, like, a lot of SAs, and then Will let off the stinkiest fart …

Corinna Brown: Oh, it was so stinky.

Kit Connor: … I’ve ever, ever, ever come across. And everyone genuinely, like, needed gas masks. It was awful. 

Rhea Norwood: OK, what do you think makes Season 3 different to Season 1 and 2? 

Will Gao: Season 3 … more sexy time.

[laughter]

Rhea Norwood: I love you, Will. 

Tobie Donovan: Corinna, um, Tara … Tara is known for being really good at ballet.

Corinna Brown: Yep.

Tobie Donovan: I think you’re quite a good dancer too.

Corinna: Yep. 

Tobie Donovan: What’s your favorite dance move?

[upbeat music plays]

[Tobie] Unh, unh, unh, unh.

Kit Connor: OK, so she’s not that good, then.

[laughter] 

Corinna Brown: You’re just jealous, Kit. 

Kizzy Edgell: Will, yours is so gorgeous. 

Rhea Norwood: Will’s doing some really great, like, modern abstract art. We’ve got realism on this end, and then —

Will Gao: We’ve got two minutes? What?! No.

Rhea Norwood: We’ve got two minutes left, guys.

Yasmin Finney: Ooh! 

Tobie Donovan: I’d really like a waffle from France, please. 

Joe Locke: They’re the Netherlands. 

Tobie Donovan: I’d really love a waffle from the Netherlands, please.

Joe Locke: These are amazing. These are, like, some of my favorite things. 

Rhea Norwood: What is one moment throughout all three series that you’ll, like, never ever forget?

Yasmin Finney: Filming in the Louvre.

Will Gao: That was big.

Tobie Donovan: Corinna.

Corinna Brown: Yo. 

Tobie Donovan: What’s your favorite outfit that you’ve worn this season? 

Corinna Brown: Ooh. I really liked, um, the ballet outfit. That was cute. It was, like, purple.

Tobie Donovan: OK, yeah, yeah. The tutu.

Corinna Brown: It was very Tara.

Rhea Norwood: So it’s about finishing touches, guys.

Will Gao: Aagh!

Yasmin Finney: Yeah, OK. Once this wrapper will open.

Rhea Norwood: I’m gonna do my Mary Berry.

[clock ticking]

Will Gao: Final touches. What do I do? Gummy bears.

Tobie Donovan: Ten seconds left!

Corinna Brown: Get another one! 

Rhea Norwood: Two, one! And that is done! Step away from your cakes. Step away.

Tobie Donovan: … one. Hands behind your back!

[screams] 

Tobie Donovan: Hands behind your back! Put your hands behind your back. Wow. I mean, there's cakes that are on plates. 

Rhea Norwood: Yasmin, step away from the cakes.

[upbeat whimsical music playing] 

Tobie Donovan: First up is Netflix star Kit Connor. 

Kit Connor: So, um, it's made with probably, like, eggs and milk and stuff like that.

Joe Locke: Did you make the cake?

Kit Connor: Um, there’s icing, um, on it. There’s some black sweets. There’s some more icing, and there’s some stroopwafels. 

Joe Locke: Tori.

Kit Connor: It’s a lemonade glace. 

Rhea Norwood: Will, that's incredible. I feel like there’s a metaphor.

[Will gasps]

Will Gao: Oh no! Wait, that doesn’t count.

Yasmin Finney: Yeah, you’ve lost a mark now.

Rhea Norwood: Take two.

Yasmin Finney: That is very cool. It’s very artsy. 

Rhea Norwood: Well, for me, there’s … OK, so there’s a divide ’cause there’s a sort of yin and yang sort of feel to it.

Will Gao: Yes, there’s a divide and there’s a symmetry.

Kizzy Edgell: Maybe it’s Nick's bisexuality.

Rhea Norwood: Is it Nick?

Will Gao: It is Nick. We have bisexuality as a theme. 

Corinna Brown: OK, so this cake is a little extra. It likes a lot of pink, all the things.

Tobie Donovan: Yeah.

Corinna Brown: Um, it’s … Yeah, it’s got it all going on. 

Tobie Donovan: Yours is Imogen. It also looks like it really believes in allyship.

Corinna Brown: Yeah.

Rhea Norwood: Yas, are you ready? 

Yasmin Finney: Yeah. What I’m gonna have to do is just quickly just …

Rhea Norwood: No. Step away from the cake, Yas.

Yasmin Finney: Sorry, just —

Will Gao: Step away from the cake!

Yasmin Finney: This character is very dear to my heart.

Rhea Norwood: Mm hmm.

Yasmin Finney: Terrible at art, but, um, very emotional.

Will Gao: I’m getting “ran out of time.”

Yasmin Finney: A lot of art and … Oh! No shade.

Rhea Norwood: There’s a tear from the eyes in there. So there’s, you know … 

Yasmin Finney: Maybe they’re on the verge of finding themselves. Maybe they find out that they like to make certain things. 

Rhea Norwood: From what you’ve said, I think it’s … it might be Tao. No?

Yasmin Finney: Yeah, it is Tao. Yeah. 

Tobie Donovan: Joe-joe. 

Joe Locke: So, um, I went for realism with my cake.

[Corinna laughing] 

Tobie Donovan: You’re laughing now, but you won’t be when you get no points.

Joe Locke: And I … I … You know, I’ve used icing, a stroopwafel.

Tobie Donovan: Yeah.

Joe Locke: A … a Hi-Chew. 

Tobie Donovan: And all of my favorite colors. 

Joe Locke: And all of Tobie’s favorite colors. Which are colors. Tobie loves color.

Corinna Brown: So much.

Joe Locke: If you couldn’t tell.

Rhea Norwood: Kizz?

Kizzy Edgell: I’m really proud of this.

Rhea Norwood: Hey!

Yasmin Finney: Wow. 

Kizzy Edgell: Do you have any idea who this is? ’Cause it’s real hard. 

Will Gao: Mustache.

Yasmin Finney: That’s like a snowman.

Rhea Norwood: There’s multiple dogs in ‘Heartstopper.’

Kizzy Edgell: That’s true.

Rhea Norwood: So I’m gonna go with Nellie. 

Yasmin Finney: I’m gonna go with Nellie.

Will Gao: I’m gonna go with Nellie.

Rhea Norwood: I think that’s great.

[fast-paced whimsical music playing] 

Rhea Norwood: I’m gonna say first place goes to … Mr. William Gao.

Will Gao: Oh!

Rhea Norwood: Because I loved the abstract concept.

Will Gao: Oh, thank you.

Rhea Norwood: Um, and, you know, character is within. And I think that’s what this cake exhibits. And then it’s joint second, guys.

Kizzy Edgell: OK. 

Rhea Norwood: No … no losers here today.

Kizzy Edgell: Brilliant.

Rhea Norwood: We’re all winners. 

Tobie Donovan: My favorite cake is Kit Connor’s cake. 

Kit Connor: Oh my God! No. 1 place goes to Kit Connor.

Joe Locke: No. 1.

Tobie Donovan: I think the … I like the black sweets, like Tori’s soul and all of her outfits. I like the lemonade. I’m a little bit disappointed by the waffles and how there’s literally only three of them.

Corinna: They didn’t finish.

Kit Connor: It’s ’cause she stole ’em. She stole ’em, and he …

[Corinna laughing]

Corinna Brown: Oi! What are you doing?!

Tobie Donovan: No. OK, no, guys.

Kit Connor: Urrgh!

[laughter] 

Tobie Donovan: In second place is Corinna Brown's incredible Imogen cake. I wasn’t sure if it was Imogen or Darcy ’cause of the chaos.

Corinna Brown: The chaos.

Tobie Donovan: But the pink gave it away as being Imogen. And then, in last place, for such obvious reasons, is this sheer monstrosity.

Joe Locke: Shall we hold it up?

Tobie Donovan: The ugliest thing I’ve ever seen in my life.

Joe Locke: I won’t put it in your face.

Tobie Donovan: It has no representation of me ever. 

Will Gao: Although I did win, there are no winners. So congratulations to all involved.

Yasmin Finney: Smell that. 

Will Gao: A round of applause.

Rhea Norwood: Ooh.
