[prosecutor] Your Honor, the People thank and excuse jurors two, four, and 15.

[LisaGay Hamilton as Judge Mary Holder] There are dozens of people in this courthouse with access to that.

[Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Mickey Haller] But it also had to be someone with a deep understanding of the jury selection process. For instance, a judge. With a little help from a friend of mine in the LAPD. You and your husband are gonna need a really good lawyer, Judge. I'm sorry. I'm all booked up.

[reporter 1] Mr. Haller, care to make a statement?

[reporter 2] Mr. Haller, are you representing Lisa Trammell?

[Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Mickey Haller] [sighs] Yes, I am. And I can tell you this. My client is completely innocent of these charges. [beat] What? A little press is good for business, Lorna.

[CLIP]

[Yaya DaCosta as Andrea Freeman] What are you doing, Haller? 

[Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Mickey Haller] I think it's pretty clear. It's a motion to have you dismissed from this case. You have a conflict of interest.

[Yaya DaCosta as Andrea Freeman]  You think this is gonna work. 

[Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Mickey Haller] Why would the court care which prosecutor is on the case? But you care. 'Cause you want this case. You love all eyes trained on you too. 

[Yaya DaCosta as Andrea Freeman]  What do you want? 

[Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Mickey Haller] I want discovery flowing now. 

[Yaya DaCosta as Andrea Freeman]  Withdraw your motions. I'll have everything for you by the end of the day on Friday. 

[Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Mickey Haller] Mm-mm, not good enough. Tomorrow.

[Yaya DaCosta as Andrea Freeman]  That's not enough time to copy everything. 

[Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Mickey Haller] All right. Thursday, by noon. 

[Yaya DaCosta as Andrea Freeman]  Fine.

[Becki Newton as Lorna Crane]  This isn't a risk, Mickey. It's like you think the rules don't apply to you anymore. 

[Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Mickey Haller] You're right. They don't. I'm a different lawyer now, and this is my call.

[judge] Mr. Haller, are you ready to call your first witness?

[Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Mickey Haller] I am, Your Honor. The defense calls Lisa Trammell to the stand.

[people murmuring]

[Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Mickey Haller] You visited your uncle, a former member of that syndicate and your business partner, and it's just for the baklava? 

[witness] This is not what it looks like. 

[Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Mickey Haller] Or here's another possibility. Maybe you're passing information.

[Yaya DaCosta as Andrea Freeman]  Objection. Speculation.

[judge] Overruled. 

[Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Mickey Haller] From one member of a criminal organization to another.

[Yaya DaCosta as Andrea Freeman] Badgering!

[judge] Overruled, Ms. Freeman. 

[Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Mickey Haller] Which would make you a member of that criminal organization as well. 

[witness] "On the advice of counsel, pursuant to my Fifth Amendment right, I respectfully decline to answer this or any further questions."

[Lana Parrilla as Lisa Trammell] I just wanted you to stop asking about Jeff.

[Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Mickey Haller] Why?

[Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Mickey Haller] I've been a lawyer for a long time, Lisa. And I know when something's off. Just because you're not guilty of something doesn't mean you're innocent of everything. So where is he, huh? 

[Lisa] Mickey, don't.

[Jazz Raycole as Izzy Letts] You got a new client call. His name is Julian La Cosse. They're holding him at the West Hollywood sheriff's station.

[tires screech] 

[prisoner] You're Mickey Haller? My friend recommended you. She said that if I was ever in trouble, I should call you. That you're the best lawyer in town. Now she's dead, and…

[Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Mickey Haller] [hesitates] OK. I don't understand. Your friend is dead? 

[prisoner] That's who they said I killed. But I… I would never do that. I've got no one else to turn to. [shaky breath] Can you help me?
