Strategy games are all about capitalizing on critical moments to come out on top. The Bloons series is a more fantastical take on the tower defense–style strategy experience, centering around a cartoon war between an army of monkeys defending their homeland and the rogue balloons looking to turn the world into an entire planet of balloons. With developer Ninja Kiwi’s Bloons TD 6, we see the series’ most challenging tactics game to date, which puts even veteran gamers through their paces.
If you’re a newcomer to the Bloons series and want to see what Bloons TD 6 Netflix is all about, we’ve got a breakdown of everything you need to know before you take your crew of tactical monkeys onto the battlefield.
Bloons TD 6 is a tower defense strategy game in which players command an army of monkeys wielding weapons, gadgets, and magical powers to take down an actual invasion of balloons — known simply as the eponymous bloons. With the tone of a comical and plucky cartoon series, Bloons TD 6 invites players to coordinate their squad of dart-wielding ninja monkeys, superhero monkeys, and even monkeys in attack helicopters (to mention a few) around the battlefield to create the best possible line of defense.
As you complete missions on different battlefields, you will earn rewards and even recruit new Hero monkeys who have a particular set of skills that will help you in your quest to stop the evil balloons encroaching on your land.

Did someone say tower defense strategy!? Ok, sign me tf up.
The Bloons series focuses on the tower defense style of strategy game, meaning that territory is defended with your carefully positioned units. Each mission, set across different rounds, sees the opposing bloons move along a fixed path, and, depending on which units you use, you’ll be able to slow and whittle away at dozens of foes that flood the path in each round. If the balloons break your defenses and reach the end of the path, your crew will suffer damage; if your squad experiences too much damage, you’ll lose the battle.
The early rounds are straightforward enough to understand the flow and tactics, but as you move ahead, the bloons become more numerous and devious in their approach. Eventually, you’ll encounter enemies with armor, camouflage, and even larger foes in the form of the threatening M.O.A.B. (mother of all bloons). As the battles heat up, you can add and upgrade new units to grant them more powerful attacks and support moves to even the odds. The key to victory and survival is to adapt to changes. In Bloons TD 6, everything can be unlocked through play, and you won’t need to spend any additional money to unlock items or characters to help you progress.

Yikes … be careful not to be completely pwned by your competitors.
Though Bloons TD 6 is approachable as a mobile strategy game, it still presents many challenging battles that will put your tactics and strategic thinking to the test. Each battle is a game of endurance, testing whether your units have covered any blind spots in your defenses and if your units work well with others in proximity. Bloons TD 6 offers a range of difficulty levels for each mission — from easy to medium to hard — and you can still progress your campaign in the more approachable settings. However, to get the most out of Bloons TD 6, you’ll need to hunker down and put those skills to work to beat some of the more challenging battles.
