It’s a good day to be a fan of the Ryan Murphy universe. The chillingly dark DAHMER — Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story and the twisty thriller The Watcher are both returning for more scares and drama.
Monster has been renewed for two more installments and will now become an anthology series that follows other notorious figures who left their mark on society. The Watcher will return for a second season, from co-creators Murphy, Ian Brennan and Eric Newman.
“Audiences can’t take their eyes off Monster and The Watcher. The creative team of Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan, on Monster, along with Eric Newman, on The Watcher, are masterful storytellers [who’ve] captivated audiences all over the world,” Bela Bajaria, the head of global TV at Netflix, says. “The back-to-back force of these two series is due to Ryan’s distinct, original voice, which created cultural sensations.”

Monster Season 1, co-created by Murphy and Brennan, is Netflix’s second-most-popular English TV season and is on track to reach 1 billion viewing hours in the coming weeks.
The first outing of The Watcher focuses on Nora (executive producer Naomi Watts) and Dean Brannock (Bobby Cannavale), parents of two who think they’re moving into an idyllic home in suburban New Jersey. But the family begins receiving menacing letters — and strange neighborly attention — turning their dream house into a nightmare.
Monster Season 1 and The Watcher Season 1 are currently available to stream.
