The players of Indian Matchmaking might have a hard time finding love, but they certainly stole fans’ hearts with the debut of Season 1. And now it’s finally time to check back in on matchmaker Sima Taparia’s favorite clients with Season 2, premiering next month. The just-released trailer reveals viewers will be re-meeting some original cast members who are still looking for their perfect biodata match, and meeting some very memorable new singles too. 

“When [clients] come to me, they have a lot of criteria. They want everything,” Sima says in the new trailer. “I’m ovo-lacto-semi-vegetarian,” says one new cast member. [Long pause] “I don’t do a magical wish with the wand,” Sima replies in a confessional. 

Season 1 fan favorites Nadia Jagessar, Aparna Shewakramani and Pradhyuman Maloo all appear in the trailer too. 

“I’m done with the life I thought I wanted,” Aparna declares, later pictured with Season 1 match Jay Wadhwani. But when a friend offers her well-meaning advice about “challenges” she has finding a perfect partner, Aparna shoots back the kind of one-liner that’s made her a social media staple for two years running. Fellow Season 1 star Nadia raises similar questions in her new quest for love, as the video shows her on a park bench date with Indian Matchmaking newcomer Vishal. “So the age thing is, like, cool?” she asks him, followed by what we can only describe as dramatic crickets. But Nadia is far from the only person listing out her very specific woes and criteria. The rest of the trailer sees some new faces asking for everything from “man buns” to a woman who’s “five-foot-eight” to “one tattoo.” And one thing is clear: Sima once again has her work cut out for her.

Season 2 of Indian Matchmaking premieres Aug. 10 and is guaranteed to delight us with many of Aparna’s best zingers.
