Karin and Niklas

Niklas hits it off with quite a few women in the pods, but when he and Karin discover they live down the street from each other, it feels meant to be. While Niklas is ready to commit, Karin’s a bit more wary about the speediness of their connection because of past dating experiences. Once he adequately expresses that he wants to build a life with Karin, she immediately hits a hole in one with the putter he’s gifted her. The pair become the first couple this season to get engaged. Niklas proposes, saying, “I want you to know that I will choose you every day.” 

After tackling everyday challenges together in the real world, Karin and Niklas make it official, exchanging vows that sweetly pay homage to the fateful way they finally met. “It took a wall between us in another town for me to find you when you’ve been right in front of me the whole time,” Karin says. At the reunion, the couple announce that they are expecting a baby girl any day. “This year has been the best of my life,” says Niklas.

Karolina and Jakob

Jakob is quick to call Karolina his “soulmate,” but their courtship takes a rocky turn. In the pods, Karolina finds out that Jakob shared a secret about his past with Emmelie despite telling Karolina that she’s the only one he confided this to. But her heart melts when he explains that sharing that information with Emmelie felt wrong, and he only wants to pursue a relationship with Karolina. On their next date, he pops the question through tears, and she says yes. After finally meeting Jakob face-to-face, Karolina is left feeling uneasy because she suspects he’s more enthusiastic about her than she is about him. 

Though Jakob is not Karolina’s “type,” her attraction to him grows as the two spend more time together. Jakob is patient with Karolina as she slowly opens herself up to him, but he has reservations about walking down the aisle with someone who isn’t sure about her feelings. Finally, in Episode 8, Karolina is able to tell Jakob the three little words he’s been longing to hear. The two get hitched, but share at the reunion that the first year of marriage has been difficult. Yet they’ve managed to stay together, and are looking forward to traveling to Jakob’s home country of Sri Lanka and, down the road, becoming parents. “Both Jakob and I know what we want and are two strong personalities who try to meet in the middle,” Karolina says.

Alicia and Oscar

Though Oscar tells Alicia his awkwardness usually leads to bad first impressions, she’s completely charmed right off the bat. Going into the experiment, Alicia was looking for a partner who’s willing to express how they feel, so when Oscar openly asserts his adoration for her, she cuts off her other connection with Tim. While Oscar also builds a connection with Milly, he ultimately realizes that Alicia is the only one for him. At their pajama party date he says, “The first impression is the last. You’re the only one I want to keep seeing.” The two get engaged and even get a bit hot and bothered when they finally lay eyes on each other. 

Though the initial attraction between Alicia and Oscar burns very bright, the two struggle to connect on a deeper level in the real world. Alicia thinks Oscar is hard to read and repeatedly pushes him to open up to her more. When Alicia’s other pod connection, Tim, shows up at the couples’ engagement party, the two share a very tender moment, and she finds herself feeling much more secure with him. After taking some time away from Alicia, Oscar comes to the conclusion that he doesn’t miss her enough to move forward, and he ends their relationship. At the reunion, the two share that they were simply too different to make a relationship work but still have a lot of love for each other. After the experiment, Alicia, who is currently single, did reconnect with Tim, but nothing else came of their flirtation.

Milly and Ola

Milly and Ola share an appreciation for nature — the fact that he lives among sprawling fields outside Stockholm is a major plus for this horse girl. While Milly is much more of a free spirit than perfectionist Ola, who lives a very restrictive lifestyle, she comes to rely on his calming presence and reassurance throughout their time in the pods. After Milly is rejected by Oscar, her other connection in the pods, she must decide whether Ola is actually her perfect match, instead of an easy second choice. But once they build a strong spiritual connection, the two confidently choose each other, and Ola gets down on one knee. Their reveal goes smoothly, though he is pretty shocked by Milly’s short hair. 

While the newly engaged couple vacations in Crete, Ola struggles to stop fixating on Milly’s haircut and her laid-back attitude toward life’s little indulgences like wine and chocolate. When they return home, Milly worries that Ola alwaysputs himself first, which leaves little room for her needs in their relationship. Realizing that they are not aligned in their approach to life, Ola breaks off their engagement, telling Milly, “I don’t think you’re the right person for me.” At the reunion, Milly says that she’s dating again, and is now much more clear about what she wants out of a relationship. She also reveals that she harbors unresolved feelings for Oscar. Ola shares that he is now partnered with someone who has a more similar lifestyle to his own.

Nathalie and Wictor
Family-oriented Nathalie and Wictor both consider their siblings to be their best friends, which sparks an initial bond between them. Wictor thinks that Nathalie may be just the girl to draw him out of his shell, but they hit a snag when she struggles to open up. After shaking off a frustrating date, Nathalie is finally able to tell Wictor how having someone in her life who struggles with addiction has shaped who she is, and Wictor is ready to support her and be vulnerable in turn. The butterflies are undeniable, and the couple get engaged. “It’s like everything I’ve longed for. You really are perfect for me,” Nathalie says after accepting the proposal. However, at their reveal, reality sets in, and she’s left wondering if she can keep her word to marry him. 

Once the two arrive in Crete, Nathalie is able to reestablish the comfort she felt with Wictor in the pods. Wictor, on the other hand, worries that there isn’t enough excitement in their partnership, since he and Nathalie are both relatively calm and quiet people. He’s also concerned about where they will live after the wedding and is tentative about telling Nathalie “I love you.” But, those questions — and even a little rain on their wedding day — don’t stop the two from tying the knot, with the enthusiastic support of their beloved siblings. At the reunion, Nathalie and Wictor reveal that after some time living in different cities at the start of their marriage, they have finally settled into life together.
