Are you ready to join The Pentaverate? Prepare for orientation with the first trailer for the new Mike Myers series that launches next month.
Myers plays a whopping eight different characters in the show, including Australian media mogul Bruce Baldwin, ex-Russian oligarch Mishu Ivanov, Canadian newsman Ken Scarborough and Shep Gordon, who actually is Alice Cooper’s ex-manager in real life. He’s joined on screen by longtime co-star (and handsomest man in the world) Rob Lowe, Keegan-Michael Key, Ken Jeong, Jennifer Saunders, Lydia West and Debi Mazar. The show also features a cameo from movie theater chat host Maria Menounos, who plays herself throughout the series.
The Pentaverate itself is billed as “the world’s oldest and most effective secret society,” and is absolutely not the Illuminati, thank you very much. (As per the trailer, both Jay-Z and Beyoncé belong to the latter, which Key’s character says explains “what Lemonade is about.”) Don’t get it twisted, though: What The Pentaverate lacks in hip-hop cred it makes up for in devious power, bunker-style secret lairs and mysterious robed figures.
The future of humanity — and your funny bone — will be at stake when The Pentaverate is released May 5.
