Throughout Selling Sunset’s first five seasons, the Oppenheim Group agents have ended friendships and formed new alliances, but the cast’s interoffice dynamics aren’t all that have changed. All the women featured on the show have evolved drastically, both as people and as style icons. From their laid-back looks in Season 1 to their couture dress codes in Season 5, the cast members have gone from real estate hotshots to reality TV A-listers, and their new styles reflect that. Thanks in part to many fat commission checks, their beauty, wardrobe and accessory budgets can handle their new aesthetic aspirations. Just how far have their fashion senses come? Below, we take a closer look at where they were and where they are now.

When it comes to serving looks in Selling Sunset, Christine Quinn comes out on top — and not just because she’s almost always wearing platform heels. While Quinn has always been into the “goth Barbie” aesthetic, she wasn’t dressed to the nines in every scene of Season 1. Instead, she occasionally showed off her casual side by sporting a baseball cap and leggings. In more recent seasons, though, she embodied an all-glamour look, all the time. Now the agent’s blonde hair is brighter, with no dark roots in sight, and she’s rarely seen without at least one designer label on display. Though every outfit Christine has worn in the newer seasons of Selling Sunset is clearly very carefully curated, she’s not afraid to have fun with fashion and always opts for whimsical pieces that get people talking. Who could forget that totally impractical but absolutely precious crystal-encrusted chair purse?

In Season 1, Chrishell Stause’s style was described as being very “off the rack.” Upon first meeting her future nemesis, Christine remarked, “I mean, whether it was the Ann Taylor, like, Driving Miss Daisy dress — I don’t know, I think she’s, like, really nice. I just want to work on her style a little bit.” Early on in the show, Chrishell’s looks were very feminine and maybe even a bit prim. She was often seen in A-line dresses with frilly touches like lace or bows. As the agent evolves professionally and personally throughout the series’ five seasons, however, so do her looks. She lightens her hair and begins to embrace edgier and more on-trend pieces that show off her body.

In Selling Sunset’s premiere episode, Mary Fitzgerald said in a confessional, “Christine and I have completely different styles. Hers is black, gothic, hard, and mine is bright, open, airy. Even when we go get our nails done, she gets black, I get white.” While it’s true that Mary’s style starts off more relaxed than Christine’s, it still has a rocker vibe. As the show progresses, she lets go of her chunky watches and super dark eyeliner and begins to play with more feminine looks, featuring lighter colors and ultra-long hair extensions. One thing that hasn’t changed about Mary throughout the show’s five seasons is her love of short skirts and sleeveless tops, all the better to show off her long legs and toned arms.

Because she’s both laid-back and plainspoken, Maya Vander is a fan favorite — not to mention the only agent with whom everyone on the show gets along. Her style reflects her personality perfectly, and it hasn’t changed much since Season 1. Maya likes practical basics, from flattering dresses to simple but elegant accessories. Her hair has gotten a little lighter over the seasons, but she still wears muted tones like olive green and maroon, all of which beautifully complement her skin tone.

In terms of style, Heather Rae Young started Season 1 with a bohemian flair. Since then, she’s traded in her wide-brimmed hats for sleek hairstyles that feature a trendy center part — though she does still love a braided updo. Heather’s clothing choices have become less generic but continue to highlight her carefree spirit. Even as she’s refined her fashion sense, she’s avoided crossing over into anything resembling staid sartorial territory.

Davina Potratz’s style has changed dramatically since Season 1. In the beginning, her wardrobe could have belonged to any woman working in any office — there was nothing about her simple slacks and dress tops that said “Selling Sunset.” But, over the years, she’s developed designer taste and, in the most recent season, can be seen sporting labels like Fendi and Versace — despite never having sold that $75 million listing. While she has become much more playful and intentional with her looks, one thing has remained the same about Davina: her stunning long, dark hair.

As an interior designer, Amanza Smith has an artistic sensibility, and it’s clearly reflected in her willingness to experiment with her clothes. Since her first appearance in Season 2 of Selling Sunset, she’s been rocking funky pieces, but, in recent years, she’s begun editing her looks with a slightly more minimalist eye. Don’t worry, though. She’s having more fun than ever with her hair; instead of simple buns and sleek ponytails, Amanza rocks elaborate pigtails, braids and even space buns throughout Season 5.

Despite mainly selling waterfront properties in Malibu, Vanessa Villela’s style is anything but beach-bum chic. Yes, she loves short skirts and shorts, but she also opts for flashy fabrics in bold colors like emerald, crimson and gold. An affinity for big, shiny accessories like belt buckles and bangles is a constant for Vanessa, and one of the key aesthetic traits she’s sported throughout her two seasons in Selling Sunset. Her look hasn’t changed that much so far, but it’s still full of glitz and glamour.

In her two seasons in Selling Sunset, Emma Hernan hasn’t undergone any major style transformations. Her aesthetic continues to scream “girl boss,” albeit in a visually appealing way. She loves pantsuits, blazers and pencil skirts featuring fun touches and in unexpected colors. In Season 5, Emma is able to show her cutesy, casual side as she now has personal story lines in addition to her professional ones. For those scenes, beachy waves replace her perfect curls, while jean shorts and flouncy skirts stand in for all those tailored suits.

The Oppenheim Group’s newest agent brings the fashion. Finally, Christine not only has an ally but also someone who is very much on her level when it comes to looks. As a self-proclaimed “Black Barbie,” Chelsea Lazkani gravitates toward girly outfits featuring high hemlines, towering heels, light colors and cute accessories. Chelsea often jokes that her décolletage plays a key role in helping her sell properties; accordingly, she opts for clothes that highlight that asset. Since she’s brand-new to Selling Sunset, we’ll have to wait and see how her style evolves, but it’s hard to imagine how she could look any better.
