Prepare for a fresh load of dirty relationship laundry when The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On returns for Season 3.
The partner-swapping dating experiment co-hosted by Nick and Vanessa Lachey is back with a new group of couples who all share one thing in common: One person in each relationship has issued the other an ultimatum. While every pair starts the series with challenges all their own — from financial strains and professional woes to age gaps and ticking biological clocks — their mission remains the same: to exit relationship limbo once and for all and either get married or end things for good.

Each participant will “break up” with their partner and enter into a trial marriage with someone new to discover whether their original relationship is built to last a lifetime or is simply beyond repair. Within a matter of weeks, they’ll chart a path forward, leading to unexpected connections and, hopefully, some much-needed clarity.

This season, six new couples are risking it all to find out if their current relationship can go the distance. Among each of the couples — Zaina and JR, Nick and Sandy, Mariah and Caleb, Aria and Scotty, Chanel and Micah, and David and Vanessa — one partner has given the other an ultimatum. Want to find out who’s ready for marriage … and who has some major reservations? To learn more about the cast and their stories, check out our guide to the Season 3 couples.
Just like those who came before them, The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On follows a group of couples at a major turning point in their relationships: One wants to get married while the other isn’t quite ready yet. The marriage-minded one of the pair issues an ultimatum to the other, and so the experiment begins. In the first phase, the original couples will temporarily split up and enter into a “trial marriage” with another person in the experiment from a different relationship. After moving in and living with their new partner, they’ll then reunite with their original partner and be faced with a life-changing decision. Either they can repair the relationship they started in, forge ahead with a new connection, or choose to leave the experiment solo.
Curious about all the past couples who’ve entered the dating experiment and where they are now? Find out who’s still together among the Season 1 and Season 2 crew before you get to learn a bunch of new names for Season 3.
