In Ruthless Pursuit, Nemesis Steals No. 1 in This Week’s Top 10

Plus: Viewers can’t look away from The Crash, and sci-fi series The Boroughs sleuths a monster mystery.

Stealing viewers’ attention last week was heist drama Nemesis, which snatched up the No. 1 spot on the English TV list with 11.4 million views. The latest series from Courtney A. Kemp (Power) and Tani Marole pits genius thief Coltrane Wilder (Y’lan Noel) against the driven Detective Isaiah Stiles (Matthew Law). Wilder is as calculating as Stiles is impulsive, and as the latter closes in on the former — who is planning one last major heist — each becomes obsessed with outsmarting the other. Critics have hailed Nemesis as a must-watch, calling its central rivalry “ice-cold and entertaining as hell.”

Retirement in The Boroughs is anything but sleepy as the Duffer Brothers–produced sci-fi series took No. 2 on the list with 5.6 million views. In it, Sam Cooper (Alfred Molina) discovers something strange lurks in the desert retirement community he’s just moved into, and soon he and his misfit neighbors must uncover it or risk having their “golden years” cut short. Critics call the series (created by Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews), a “captivating sci-fi horror for the ages.” Fans are also already loving the music and needle drops of The Boroughs, curated by Stranger Things music supervisor Nora Felder, which include Bruce Springsteen’s “Thunder Road” and Djo’s “Back on You.”

With a burning flame that just won’t quit, Man on Fire continues to bring the heat, putting it at No. 5 on the English TV list with 3 million views. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II plays John Creasy, a former Special Forces soldier suffering from PTSD who is convinced by his old friend, Paul Rayburn (Bobby Cannavale), to take a job in Brazil. But a tragic act of violence propels him into action — and he’s determined to hunt the perpetrators and keep Rayburn’s daughter safe.

Picking up speed in its second week in the Top 10 is the captivating documentary The Crash, which took No. 1 on the English film list with 27.6 million views. In Strongsville, Ohio, in 2022, an investigation into what appeared to be a deadly 100-mile-per-hour car collision into a brick building uncovers signs of a calculated crime that left the two passengers dead and the driver, 17-year-old Mackenzie Shirilla, facing serious allegations.

At No. 2 on the list is the popular animated adventure Swapped with 16.1 million views. Featuring the voices of Michael B. Jordan and Juno Temple, the touching tale of two mythical creatures — and sworn enemies — magically forced to experience each other’s perspectives firsthand continues to thrill kids and families around the globe. Speaking of swapping places, the new comedy Ladies First stars Sacha Baron Cohen and Rosamund Pike (I Care a Lot) in a story about a ladies man who wakes up in a parallel world dominated by women. The movie debuted at No. 3 on the list with 11.9 million views.
