What would you do if Chris Hemsworth asked you to join a mysterious experiment? We have a sneak peek for you, and it’s chilling.

Behind those frames are the eyes of a madman.
In Spiderhead, the state-of-the-art penitentiary run by the brilliant Steve Abnesti (Hemsworth) isn’t your typical prison. There are no bars, no cells or even orange jumpsuits — allowing inmates to be themselves... until they’re not. Convicts can either serve their entire sentence or opt into an experimental drug-testing program in exchange for a commutation. If they choose the latter, the incarcerated volunteers must wear a surgically attached device that administers dosages of mind-altering drugs. Through Abnesti’s twisted experiments, the inmates are pushed to the limit as their free will is put to the test. But when two subjects, Jeff (Miles Teller) and Lizzy (Jurnee Smollett), form a connection, they band together to save each other.

Jeff and Lizzy’s connection could be the only thing that saves them from Abnesti.
The new film, based on George Saunders’ short story Escape from Spiderhead, originally published in The New Yorker, is a genre-bending psychological thriller directed by Joseph Kosinski (TRON: Legacy, Top Gun: Maverick) and written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (Deadpool, Zombieland). Prepare for mind games and Chris Hemsworth’s impressive specs collection when Spiderhead premieres June 17.
