Would you spend $3,000 to lock lips with a stranger? Drop $6,000 to kiss someone with a pair of shorts in between your lips? Give $4,000 for a (sorry) “crab grab”? Too Hot to Handle dares singles to ask themselves these questions, and most of the time, the answer is a resounding... yes.

On each season of the reality show, host and robot sex cop Lana generously offers a hefty prize fund to contestants ($100K in Seasons 1 and 2, $200K in Season 3), but there’s a catch: Money is deducted each time a contestant does even the smallest sexual act. Yes, even a chaste little peck on the lips. Not even Patrick — a man who once fell asleep guarding the private suite, lest it be used for salacious acts — could keep all those funds intact. 

In Season 3, Lana cracks the whip by doubling penalties, but that doesn’t stop the contestants from becoming big spenders. So out of all three seasons, who’s spent the most of Lana’s cold hard cash? Check out her bank statements below to see who racked up the biggest tab — and which purchases might have been worth it in the end. 

5. Cam Holmes 

Season 2’s Cam and now-girlfriend Emily Miller sure cash in on Lana’s, ahem, hospitality, and it leads to a successful relationship. They become the first couple to break the rules in Episode 2, kissing twice and costing the group $6,000. The aforementioned “crab grab” incident adds $4,000; to recover from not “blow[ing] his circuit,” as Lana claims, Cam takes some extra time in the shower and blows another $2,000. Though Cam and Emily are offered a shot at redemption in the private suite, self-touching and excessive grinding cost them an additional $5,000, coming together to a total of $17,000. But Cam ends up placing second overall, so it’s clear that Lana forgives his many indiscretions.

4. Melinda Melrose

Melinda shows a penchant for spending cash early on: After first kissing Marvin (a $3,000 offense), she drops another $3K kissing Peter — a small price to pay to make Marvin jealous. But the true big spending doesn’t come until she and Marvin have sex, which comes with a $20,000 price tag. But the two are able to earn back $25,000 during a private night in the suite, during which they put an ottoman between themselves to keep their hands off each other. Hey, whatever works! 

3. Francesca Farago

Too Hot to Handle’s most infamous contestant, Francesca, actually only just cracks the top three worst offenders. She first spends $6,000 kissing Haley and Harry, but truly comes into her own when she and Harry go all the way — the first time ever on the show. Afterwards, she and Harry drop — or should we say, blow — another $6,000, but it’s all earned back after a successfully chaste night in the suite. 

2. Izzy Fairthorne

Izzy moves quickly to spend Lana’s hard-earned coin. Before the host implements double punishments, Izzy kisses Georgia for a loss of $3,000; shortly after, she and Truth lock lips to the tune of $6K. But a couple of kisses and a certain bleeped-out sexual act cost the group $22,000, which lands Izzy in second place on this list. 

1. Holly Scarfone and Nathan Soan Mngomezulu

Last up are Holly and Nathan, who drop the biggest-ever tab at Lana’s expense. By spending $141,000, they make Too Hot to Handle history. On the very first night of rules, they spend $30,000 on five kisses — basically, the Too Hot to Handle equivalent of ordering lobster on the first date. Then they’re offered a chance at redemption, but blow it with two more kisses, costing the group $69,000 (turns out, Lana does have a sense of humor). And while the fund is left dying, begging for its life, Holly and Nathan deal the final blow by having sex — they drain the fund of its last $36,000. Overall, they spend nearly 75 percent of the prize fund; though they get $90K back by spending an abstinent final night in the private suite, they still beat out every single other Too Hot to Handle contestant ever. Not bad for the couple that drops $6,000 to kiss a piece of cloth.
