Are we spending Valentine’s Day at your place or mine? Whatever venue you choose, Reese Witherspoon and Ashton Kutcher’s new romantic comedy, Your Place or Mine, will make for perfect viewing material for your Netflix-and-chill date. Conveniently, it drops just in time for the love-centric holiday on Feb. 10.
During Netflix’s annual Tudum fan event, Witherspoon and Kutcher took the time to FaceTime each other to announce the special date reveal and also shared who their dream rom-com co-stars would be. For Witherspoon, whose rom-com roster features the likes of Legally Blonde, Sweet Home Alabama and Just Like Heaven, deciding was a no-brainer: “Cary Grant. Tom Hanks, you know what I’m saying?”

Kutcher clearly did, but his answer was the real winner: “Reese Witherspoon.” Witherspoon, who also executive produces the film, was touched, and who can blame her? It’s a tried and true line. “It worked on Natalie Portman and Cameron Diaz. It’s a ladykiller,” joked Kutcher, who previously starred with Portman in 2011’s No Strings Attached and with Diaz in 2008’s What Happens in Vegas.
The story hails from director-writer-executive producer Aline Brosh McKenna (Devil Wears Prada, My Crazy Ex-Girlfriend) and follows Debbie (Witherspoon) and Peter (Kutcher), who are best friends and total opposites. She craves routine with her son in LA; he thrives on change in New York. When they swap houses and lives for a week, they discover what they want might not be what they really need.
Rounding out the cast are Jesse Williams, Zoë Chao, Wesley Kimmel, Griffin Matthews, Rachel Bloom, Shiri Appleby, Vella Lovell, Tig Notaro and Steve Zahn. Alongside Witherspoon and McKenna, Ozark’s Jason Bateman serves as an executive producer on the film with Michael Costigan and Lauren Neustadter.
